On a high after his recent successes, Nikhil has three pan-Indian projects in his kitty - Spy, Swayambhu and The India House. Spy will be the first one to release in all South Indian languages and Hindi on June 29. Sanya Thakur, Iswarya Menon play the female leads in the Garry Bh directorial written and produced by K Rajashekhar Reddy. The film’s trailer was unveiled today.

Going by the buzz around the action thriller, leading OTT platform Amazon Prime Video has acquired the streaming rights for a huge price already. The makers confirmed the same in the latest promo of the film today. Given the film is a thriller packaged with a mix of romance, intensity and a dose of patriotism, with a premise revolving around Subhash Chandra Bose’s death, Spy is expected to resonate with audiences across languages.

Telugu film industry is betting big on the OTT space to recover the expenditure of the film much before its theatrical release. The makers are banking on the digital space more, considerably relieving themselves from the burden of collecting the desired revenue on the big screen. The solid trailer for Spy, however, is expected to guarantee terrific openings for the makers in multiple languages and the buzz will be an advantage for the streamer too.

Spy is expected to premiere on OTT a month after its theatrical release by the end of July. However, the makers have done enough to convince the viewer to watch it on the big screen. Sachin Khedekar, Abhinav Gomatam, Makarand Deshpande, Aryan Rajesh essay other important roles in the film. Two leading names - Sricharan Pakala, Vishal Chandrasekhar - have worked on the songs and the background score.

Anirudh Krishnamurthy is the dialogue writer and Vamshi Patchipulusu, Mark David are the cinematographers. While there were doubts about Spy releasing as per schedule on June 29, the team refuted all rumours around the delay.
