Park Hae-Soo, who was last seen in the Netflix series Squid Game, is set to lead the Korean remake of Money Heist, Netflix announced on Tuesday (November 30).
Park will be seen as Andrés “Berlin” de Fonollosa, who is one of the primary characters played by Spain’s Pedro Alonso in the original show, according to Variety. He is the first cast member whose joining was recently shared.
This development comes as Money Heist reaches its last season, and after Netflix announced its plans to make a spinoff focussing solely on Berlin.
"In the past five years, fans around the world have shown their love for the series. I hope our Korean version also receives your love and support. It is an honour for me to participate in such a wonderful series and above all to make Berlin an amazing character," said Park in a video.

He added that the Korean version of Money Heist will hit the platform next year, and he was thankful for the show's original cast for creating it.
Series creator Alex Pina will executive produce the show, which was announced in November this year. Kim Hong-sun will direct from a screenplay by Ryu Yong-jae.
Variety notes that before the release of Squid Game, Money Heist was one of the highest-watching non-English shows on Netflix. It was watched by over 180 million users around the world.
