Squid Game Hwang Dong-hyuk has responded to LeBron James' disappointment to the the Korean survival drama series.
At a recent event, James and teammate Anthony Davis were speaking about Squid Game, where the former said that he did not like the way the show ended.
"Get on the flight and see your f***ing daughter," said James, talking about how Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-hae) instead of boarding a plane to the US to meet his daughter chose to rejoin the game again.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Hwang Dong-hyuk was asked to speak about James' comment.
"Have you seen Space Jam 2? LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I'm very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn't change my ending. That's my ending. If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I'll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, 'I liked your whole show, except the ending," said the writer-director.
James soon discovered the response and said:
Squid Game is likely to return to Netflix. Bela Bajaria, the streamer’s head of Global TV, had previously said that while there is nothing solid in the works, Netflix is ready to work on it according to Hwang Dong-hyuk's schedule.
