Netflix's Squid Game took the world to storm with its record-breaking success in 2021. The story of the South Korean survival drama showcased how 456 people get themselves enrolled to play the deadly game to win the cash prize of ₩45.6 billion to make their lives better. Now, the OTT giant is bringing the real version of the fictional show that will see people competing with each other in a real competition.
Plot and contestants of Squid Game: The Challenge
The plot of the upcoming reality show is almost same as the 2021 survival drama. However, no one needs to die after they fail in any of the stages. They will simply be eliminated and sent out home. Similarly, like Squid Game, the upcoming reality show will witness 456 players competing with each other for $4.56 million. The names of a few contestants have been unveiled by the makers including a few famous personalities around the world including Michael Van Wijk, Lee Taylor, Theresa Sherron and Marcus Harrington among others.

The official trailer gives a glimpse of the 10-episodic reality series that sees the contestants competing in same types of game that were showcased in the 2021 Netflix drama. Not only the patterns and costumes but the shooting sets are also appears quite similar to the fictional series.

Behind the scenes
In the latest BTS video, the Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk takes the audience on the sets of the reality show. Meanwhile, the Indian born Korean actor Anupam Tripathi, who has been one of the leads in the 2021 survival drama, joins him in his journey as they both breakdowns the idea behind the upcoming show and how the set has been made.

The 10-episodic Korean reality game show is set to priepmiere on Netflix on November 22, which will finally get concluded with the finale on December 6, 2023.
