SR Kalyana Mandapam release date: When and where to watch the film on OTT

The surprise hit of the season in Telugu cinema, SR Kalyana Mandapam, directed by Sridhar Gade, starring Kiran Abbavaram, Priyanka Jawalkar, Thulasi and Sai Kumar in lead roles, gears up for its digital premiere on Telugu-only OTT platform aha this August 28. The film marked the directorial debut of Sridhar and is the second film of its lead actor Kiran Abbavaram, who has also written the script and dialogues. SR Kalyana Mandapam is releasing on OTT within three weeks of its theatrical release (on August 6).

SR Kalyana Mandapam is a story set amidst Kadapa that charts the journey of a college-going youngster Kalyan (Kiran Abbavaram), who is in love with a girl named Sindhu. Kalyan shares a bitter-sweet equation with his wayward, alcoholic father Dharma (Sai Kumar). Dharma is a misunderstood man by the most around him. There comes a phase in his life when it's inevitable for Kalyan to relook at his rapport with his father and revive his ancestral business around a marriage hall named SR Kalyana Mandapam.

The film's music by Chaitan Bharadwaj, who had earlier worked for RX 100 and Manmadhudu 2, gained popularity much before its release. SR Kalyana Mandapam was an underdog that registered impressive footfalls across the Telugu states and gave confidence for many small-time filmmakers to release their projects in theatres after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. SR Kalyana Mandapam has a fine mix of emotions, slapstick humour and romance and is expected to catch many eyeballs on OTT as well.
