SR Kalyana Mandapam's distribution rights sold, Details inside

Kiran Abbavaram, the Kadapa-based actor who made a mark in a flurry of short films, made a confident feature film debut with the rural comedy Raaja Vaaru Raani Vaaru. His next is also a quirky small-town entertainer SR Kalyana Mandapam, where he pairs up alongside Taxiwala-fame actress Priyanka Jawalkar. While the film wrapped its shoot some time ago and was hoping to make it to theatres this April, several reports speculated that the makers might opt for an OTT release after all.

However, it's now official that the makers have sold the worldwide distribution rights to Shankar Pictures and have no plans of releasing it on any OTT platform in the near future. "The team is confident of the film. A huge pre-release promotional drive has been planned across many locations once the COVID-19 situation gets better," a source exclusively confirmed to OTTplay. Debutant director Sridhar Gade has helmed SR Kalyana Mandapam that also stars Srikanth Iyyengar, Sai Kumar, Thulasi and Tanikella Bharani in key roles.

SR Kalyana Mandapam has been produced by Elite Entertainments. Manmadhudu 2, RX 100-fame Chaitan Bharadwaj scores the music for the same, with two of its singles sung by Anurag Kulkarni and Sid Sriram winning the admiration of music lovers. The team is expected to announce the release date of the project shortly.

That's not all, the film's lead actor Kiran has reportedly given a nod to three films already while commencing shoot for one of the projects. His first film Raaja Vaaru Raani Vaaru, currently streaming on Amazon Prime and aha, earned much love on OTT platforms.
