Sree Vishnu, who hasn't tasted success at the box office lately, is pinning his hopes on his upcoming cop drama Alluri. The film, produced by Bekkem Venugopal under Lucky Media, launches writer, director Pradeep Varma into the industry. Kayadu Lohar is cast as the female lead in the actioner whose teaser was launched today, commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of the Telugu freedom fighter Alluri Sita Rama Raju, the iconic personality that the film's named after.

At the launch, Sree Vishnu said, "We all felt that the 125th birth anniversary of Alluri Sita Rama Raju would be an apt way to kickstart the promotions of Alluri and readied the teaser today. I hope audiences like it. I and the film's director Pradeep Varma have known each other for over four-five years now. I don't know if I've met Alluri Sita Rama Raju in real life, but here's a director with the same intensity and honesty as the warrior."

"Generally I've played characters of a thief or a lover-boy in my career. In my life, I respect three professions the most - police officer, doctors and soldiers. As much as I want to play them on the screen, I want to do justice to their portrayal, so I've been extremely careful to pick films that represent them well on the screen. Alluri is a story of a cop that we as a society need now. The cop may be fictional but the film is inspired by several real-life incidents," he added.

Crediting the producer and the crew of Alluri, Sree Vishnu shared, "While doing Alluri, for the first time in my life, I wondered why didn't I become a police officer. Bekkem Venugopal, who launched me as an actor, too liked the script immensely. I am happy to start my second innings as an actor with him. Alluri is made with a lot of honesty and sincerity. Harshavardhan Rameshwar, the composer, and the other technicians have done a very impressive job. The film will hit theatres soon."
