Vishnu Vinyasam is Sree Vishnu's new film, releasing on February 28, 2026. The popular actor talks about his role, the conflict point in the film, future projects, and his OTT debut. Here is the transcript.

Sree Vishnu opens up on Vishnu Vinyasam and his career choices

A lot of films have been made on astrology. How different is Vishnu Vinyasam?

Ever since the trailer came out, everyone has been thinking that the film is based on astrology and horoscopes. Let me make this very clear: I am playing a character who believes strongly in horoscopes and astrology. It is only my characterization and not the backdrop of the film.

What attracted you to this film?

The love story between Nayan Sarika and me is quite interesting. I play a man who believes in horoscopes, whereas she doesn’t. This creates a unique conflict, which has been cleverly hidden in the trailer. That key point impressed me, and I agreed to the film immediately.

How was it working with Nayan Sarika?

Nayan Sarika is a very talented actress and has come a long way in her career. I feel Vishnu Vinyasam will take her to the next level. Her performance and comedy will be among the highlights of the film.

You are doing back-to-back comedy films. How different is this one?

My character, dressing style, and dialogue delivery are completely different. If you see the promos, my look, dialect, and body language stand apart from my previous films. You won’t relate this to any of my earlier works. It is an out-and-out comedy with a fresh concept.

Two of your films were supposed to release on the same day. How was the clash averted?

Yes, both films were initially scheduled for February 28, but Mruthyunjay has now been postponed. Noted producers Dil Raju and Suresh Babu helped resolve the situation. I was tense about the clash, but I am relieved now.

Tell us about the hook line in the trailer.

That is the basic hookline of the film. Ever since the heroine says this dialogue, the film turns on its head and becomes hilarious. Why she asked hero who is in love with her to get her married to someone else and how the family drama evolves is the basic story of the film.

Any OTT plans?

Yes, I am doing a big web project that will be announced in the next year or so. A noted Tamil director is directing the project, which will have different actors for other languages. Very soon, I will announce the project.

You have completed 13 years in showbiz and are known to do different films. Was this a planned career move?

Yes, it was. When I started my career, not many actors were doing different kinds of films in Telugu. So even though I knew they might not be commercially viable, I chose to do them to get noticed in the industry. Critics appreciated my performances and created an image that if a Sree Vishnu film releases, it will be something different. After gaining decent fame, I did Samajavaragamana, which connected me strongly with family audiences and the youth. Now, my comedy films are performing well, and Vishnu Vinyasam will take me deeper into the masses.

Upcoming projects?

After Vishnu Vinyasam, Mruthyunjay will release on March 6, 2026. I am also shooting for a 90s period drama titled Comrade Raju, along with two more films set to go on floors soon.
