The audiences of Malayalam cinema have always loved the Sathyan Anthikad-Sreenivasan combination. Every time the scriptwriter-director duo has come together, they have made memorable films.

Now, the latest update is that there are chances of these two coming together again for a new movie. Recently, Sathyan’s son Anoop Sathyan broke the news on social media by sharing some pictures of his father and Sreenivasan having a conversation.

“Achan: I am going to sit with Sreeni for my next.” “Me: Woah!”, Anoop captioned the pictures on Facebook.

Previously, Sreenivasan and Sathyan have collaborated on super hit movies like Nadodikkattu, Thalayanamanthram, Varavelpu, Pattanapravesham and Sandesham. Their films have always focussed on problems faced by ordinary people and unemployed youth. They have also made films like Sandesham, which is considered one of the best political satires in Malayalam.

Their latest collaboration was Njan Prakashan - which narrated the story of a cunning man, named  Prakashan, who yearns to go to a foreign country and live a luxurious life without working towards that goal. The film, treated as a satirical comedy, had Fahadh Faasil essaying the lead character. Njan Prakashan went on to become a big success.

Sathyan’s recent outing was Makal - a family drama starring Jayaram, Meera Jasmine, and Devika Sanjay in the main roles. The film marked Meera’s comeback after a six-year hiatus. Makal was also noted for Jayaram’s return to Mollywood after three years.

Meanwhile, Sreenivasan’s last film was Kurukkan, a comedy investigative drama, helmed by debutant Jayalal Divakaran. The film also stars Vineeth Sreenivasan, Shine Tom Chacko, Sruthy Jayan, Gowri Nandha and Srikant Murali.

Sreenivasan will also be seen in Oru Jaathi Oru Jathakam, helmed by the director of Aravindante Athidhikal, M Mohanan. The film is penned by Rakesh Mantodi, the scriptwriter of Tovino Thomas’ Godha.
