The story, characters, and location are the same, only the actors are different. Srijit Mukherji and Birsa Dasgupta are facing each other in a film battle. Both are making a film on Saradindu Bandyopadhyay’s Durgo Rohoshyo. A glimpse of the battle was seen on June 18.
On Sunday, Birsa posted a photo of Dev as Byomkesh, who smilingly stands by a lake and adjusts his glasses. The director posted the photo and wrote, “Your favorite Byomkesh and his charming smile.”
Dev posted another photo, where he stands with a grave face, holding a notebook in his hand. Dev, who is also producing the film, wrote, “Hello Byomkesh...see u soon.”
Srijit Mukherji on that day announced that the shooting of his film is completed. He posted a photo with Anirban and Rahul and wrote, “It is a wrap for my Byomkesh and Ajit. What a delight it has been to work with Anirban Bhattacharya and Rahul Arunoday Banerjee. They have breathed life into the characters with their ready improvisation and charming wit. Their chemistry has to be seen to be believed!” Later, he posted a photo of the cast and crew after the final wrap.
Srijit was supposed to direct the film for the big screen. He opted for Anirban, instead of Dev, as Byomkesh. The production house did not agree, and Srijit left the project. He then started making a web series on the same story.
