Srijit Mukherji's Byomkesh: The first look features Anirban Bhattacharya and Sohini Sarkar

The battle of Byomkesh is on. After a series of updates, photos, and finally, the teaser, Dev’s Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo is all set to be released on August 11. Directed by Birsa Dasgupta, the film also features a bevy of actors, including, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Debesh Chattopadhyay, Shantilal Mukhopadhyay, and Satyam Bhattacharya. Meanwhile, Srijit Mukherji’s web series, Durgo Rawhoshyo, is also prepping for a release. On Sunday, the first look of Byomkesh, Played by Anirban Bhattacharya, and Satyabati, played by Sohini Sarkar, was released on social media. The director also posted a photo that has Anirban and Rahul, aka Ajit, in it. 

The first look of the web series explores the romantic side of the truth-seeker Byomkesh. The sleuth is seen dressed in a white shirt and beige pants with a hint of stubble. Beside him, dressed in a white and red stripe saree, is Satyabati, walking inside the corridor of a fortress. The caption reads, “Love blossoms within the walls of the fortress for our Byomkesh and Satyabati!”

Until now, viewers have seen Ridhima Ghosh portraying Satyabati in the Hoichoi web series. Many have already praised Ridhima's portrayal of the character. However, for Srijit’s directorial, It will be Sohini. Rahul Arunoday Banerjee will play the role of Ajit, Byomkesh's assistant. 

The two Durgo Rohoshyo productions have many things in common. While Satyam Bhattacharya plays the character of Manilal in the film, his co-actor from Ballabhpurer Roopkotha, Debraj Bhattacharya, plays the same character in the web series. Santilal Mukherjee plays Inspector Purandar Pandey in the film, while his theatre partner Chandan Sen plays the same character in Srijit’s project.
