According to the latest news, the Kannada movie Madhagaja, starring Srimurali and Ashika Ranganath in lead roles, will be released in December. The last part of the shoot was completed in Bengaluru a few weeks ago. The movie is directed by Mahesh Kumar and produced by Umapathy Srinivas Gowda.
Srimurali was last seen on Bhaarate, a revenge-drama in which he played a dual role. But he is best known for films Ugramm and Mufti. In Ugramm, he collaborated with the K.G.F director Prashat Neel and in the latter, he was seen along with his cousin and Sandalwood superstar Shiva Rajkumar.The actor will be paired with Ashika Ranganath of the Crazy Boy fame for Madhagaja. Jagpathi Babu, who played the antagonist in Darshan, starring Roberrt, will be playing a villain in the film and the yesteryear actress Devayani will play his wife.
There were also some rumours that the movie was actually offered to late actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, but the director Mahesh Kumar later confirmed that the script was and this movie is tailor-made for Srimurali.
Mahesh Kumar debuted with the 2018 release Ayogya, a political comedy starring Satish Ninasam in lead role. The plot revolved around local body elections in a village. The movie became a commercial hit and the director is back with the “roaring star” Srimurali in another story with rural setting. The movie will also see the second collaboration of the director with music composer Arjun Janya. The movie will simultaneously release in Tamil and Telugu.
