Natural Star Nani’s next, the third instalment in the HIT franchise, HIT 3 or HIT: The Third Case, has been censored A for its violent content. And yet, the team including leading lady Srinidhi Shetty, who was last seen onscreen in the 2022 film Cobra, say s that audiences should not judge the film based on the 2-minute trailer. There is violence, no doubt, but the entire narrative is not about bloodshed and gore, she said, during the Kerala leg of promotions of HIT 3, which releases in theatres on May 1, 2025.
Srinidhi Shetty: HIT 3 is not all about violence
Srinidhi plays Mrudula, the love interest of Nani’s cop character Arjun Sarkaar and the most frequent question she’s been facing is about the scope for an actress in such a high-octane action film. “HIT 3 is not all about violence; it’s just in the trailer that those sequences come back-to-back. In the film, there is a natural progression – there is a crime, an investigation, and the violence comes only at the right moment. Amid this, there is a love story also,” said Srinidhi to Reporter Live, adding that she understands the perception that audiences have got based on the trailer.
The actress, who debuted in cinema with the KGF franchise, which had a fair share of violence, adds that it is not difficult for her to imagine a girl in a violent world. Srinidhi says that there will be some space where the characters are written in a way that they need love also in their lives. When the director Sailesh Kolanu narrated the script and explained Arjun Sarkaar’s life and why Mrudula’s character comes into it at a certain point, Srinidhi says that it made perfect sense to her. She adds that Mrudula fits into Arjun’s life very well.
In other interviews, Srinidhi has been quoted as saying that her character brings about a twist in the tale. The film has also been in the news for rumours about the possibility of Nani playing both the protagonist and the antagonist, with speculation rife that the avatar seen in a white suit is not Arjun Sarkaar.
