A number of Tollywood actors and actresses have left Kolkata and gone to Mumbai in the last few years. Two Tollywood actors, Sritama Dey, and Debopriyo Mukherjee, have recently expressed their opinions on the trend of talent train from the Bengali entertainment industry. Debopriyo worked in the film Shohorer Ushnotomo Din E and other web projects.

Sritama, who worked in the film Samaresh Basur Projapoti, wrote, "Many of those who know me as an actress advise me to go to Mumbai since there is no scope here. My aim was to first work in my language and establish myself and then consider going to Mumbai. I never thought about it, but I don't know how long I can sustain it. Everyone gradually leaves Kolkata. There is no money here. I don't know where our industry stands and what its future is. We see two kinds of people here. Those who get work continue getting so. Those who don't, continue not getting work. I don't like hearing that I am a good actress. It is tiring." Debopriyo shared her post and supported Sritama.

Debopriyo, sharing the post, wrote, "She's not alone, just one of the very few to speak about it..."

Many people supported the post. Many from Tollywood liked it. One person wrote, "I agree, brother. What can I say!" Another person wrote, Correct. I went to Kolkata to pitch a story and saw that it lacked vision. There is also the tendency of plagiarism."
