SS Rajamouli praises Jawan, calls Shah Rukh Khan 'Baadshah of the box office'

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli watched a double feature recently taking some time from his busy schedule. One is a Telugu romantic comedy, the other is a blockbuster popcorn. Rajamouli took to Twitter on Friday to share his thoughts on Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, starring Anushka Shetty and Naveen Polishetty.

Rajamouli seemed to have enjoyed watching both the movies back-to-back. "Sweety looked as beautiful and radiant as ever. @NaveenPolishety provided lots of laughter and loads of fun… Congratulations to the #MissShettyMrPolishetty’s team on their success. @filmymahesh , kudos to you for handling such a sensitive subject with so much fun!," Rajamouli said.

Written and directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigolla, Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is a classic romantic comedy. Judging from the trailer, it revolves around a married woman's, played by Anushka Shetty, efforts to find a suitable sperm donor. And her search for a bright man leads to a stand-up comedian, Naveen Polishetty. 

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty has received good reviews from the critics and is expected to perform well in cinemas.

And the top bill of Rajamouli's double feature was Jawan, which is headlined by Shah Rukh Khan. "This is the reason why @IamSRK is the Baadshah of the box office… What an earth-shattering opening… Congratulations @Atlee_dir for continuing the success streak in the north too, and congrats to the team of #Jawan for the stupendous success…:)," Rajamouli said.

SRK seemed overjoyed by Rajamouli's praise for Jawan, which is setting the box office on fire. He even wanted the master filmmaker to tell him whether he was a "mass hero" material. "Thank u so much sir. We are all learning from your creative inputs for cinema. Please see it as and when u can. Then call me to tell me if I can be a mass hero also. Ha ha. Love and regards sir," SRK said. 

Written and directed by Atlee, Jawan has raked in more than Rs 125 crore from its opening day ticket sales. And is expected to cross Rs 400 crore in its global earnings by the end of the first week. 

Jawan also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.
