But we at OTTplay have come to know that Rajamouli is making more than what is being quoted above. One of the sources close to the unit has revealed that Rajamouli is not taking any of the overseas rights but will instead share the profits from Varanasi. 

Not many know that a chunk of the production is being handled by veteran filmmaker KL Narayana and Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, who is also a co-producer.

Rajamouli to take a share in Varanasi profits

Rajamouli has made a deal in such a way that he will take care of the production, filming, and other costs and, in return, will take a massive share of the profits. He did the same with RRR and made big money after the film’s release. The same format is being repeated for Varanasi, but the numbers are bigger. 

These profit-sharing numbers can reportedly go up to Rs 300 crore, and Rajamouli will share this with his family as they work with him in all his films as a team.

SS Rajamouli is now an internationally renowned director, and whatever he does is special. Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran play the main leads in Varanasi, which also has Prakash Raj in a key role.
