SSMB 28: 'Finally good news,' exclaim Mahesh Babu fans - here's why

If fans were given a choice, they would wish for the much-awaited Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas project to release tomorrow. With the duo collaborating again exactly after a 13-year gap (the previous one being Khaleja, which released in 2010), the expectations are huge, to say the least, and social media is currently swamped with posts to highlight the excitement surrounding this film.

Tentatively titled SSMB 28 (Mahesh Babu's 28th film), the film is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on August 11th, 2023.

However, Mahesh Babu fans have been waiting with bated breath to know more about the film and many of them, in this vein, have been consistently urging the makers to reveal the title and the first look of the film. Earlier, one expected this all-important announcement to be made on Ugadi (March 22nd) but turns out that wouldn't be the case, considering that the team might have another auspicious occasion to bring out the update.

Haarika and Haasine Creations, the producers of the film, shared an intriguing post on social media recently which, now, puts things in perspective. In all likeliness, the SSMB 28 title and first look will be unveiled on the upcoming Sri Rama Navami festival, which falls on March 30, 2023. The makers are yet to fully commit to this, mind you, but their latest tweet does leave a fairly obvious hint behind. 

"Hey Superfans, we share your anticipation & excitement for #SSMB28! The wait for the Superstar's Mass feast will be well worth it, we promise🤩 Keep an eye out for the announcement at the perfect time🏹🔥" said the social media post in question. Although there isn't a date mentioned in this post, the bow-and-arrow and fire emojis do suggest that Sri Rama Navami would be the chosen date. Well, here's us keeping our '🤞'.

SSMB 28 also stars Pooja Hegde (her third Trivikram film), Sree Leela and others with Thaman S. scoring the music and PS Vinod handling cinematography.
