SSMB28: Malayalam actor Jayaram reunites with Trivikram after Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo; deets inside

Trivikram, beyond striking the right balance between drama, humour and commercial ingredients for a film, makes unconventional casting decisions that have worked in his favour. He was instrumental in giving Nadhiya a strong foundation in Telugu cinema, surprised audiences by getting names like Supriya Pathak, Tabu, Boman Irani, Jayaram to play crucial roles in his films.

For Malayalam actor Jayaram in particular, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo proved to be a game-changer. In a fit avatar as the biological father to Allu Arjun’s character Bantu in the film, the veteran impressed crowds with a measured, stylish performance. Jayaram, whose portrayal in Ponniyin Selvan won him plaudits, got another meaty role in Radhe Shyam and as a baddie in Ravi Teja’s blockbuster Dhamaka recently.

The popular actor is now reuniting with filmmaker Trivikram for a biggie again. Yes, he’s officially a part of SSMB28, director Trivikram’s next with Mahesh Babu. On his Instagram account, he shared series of stills from the set, where the director and the lead star are having a jolly good time. Will it be a positive role or will Jayaram get to unleash the beast in him again? Only time shall tell.

Jayaram has expressed his excitement that he’s elated to work with Mahesh Babu, while remembering his growing years where he watched superstar Krishna’s movies. He’s donning a grey kurta, sporting a moustache and a beard in the stills. Needless to say, Mahesh Babu too is as fit as ever in a striped shirt. Sreeleela, Pooja Hegde play the female leads in the film that also stars Ramya Krishna.

S Thaman is teaming up with Trivikram again after Bheemla Nayak, Ala Vaikunthapurramulo as well. The film is produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations, has cinematography by PS Vinod and will be edited by Navin Nooli. As per the banner’s official confirmation, SSMB28 will be an Independence Day release.
