Those who’ve followed Mahesh Babu’s career closely will know that he’s a family man and will go to any length to support his kin and kith in the need of the hour. When his nephew Ashok Galla forayed into films in 2022 with Hero, he was vocal in his praise for the youngster and expressed his confidence about the film. Hero eventually opened to good reviews and decent collections at the box office.

Ashok Galla, who celebrates his birthday, has commenced work on his next - tentatively titled AshokGalla2 - directed by Arjun Jandyala. The film went on floors recently and the first action packed glimpse of the project was unveiled today. Mahesh Babu was quick to respond to the video and had good things to say about it over a tweet.

“Happy birthday @AshokGalla_! The teaser looks just impressive! All the best for your film & the year ahead.” Mahesh Babu wrote. His excited nephew replied, “Thankyou @urstrulyMahesh Mamayya. Couldn’t have asked for a better start to our first action on my special day! Love u always.” Produced by Somineni Balakrishna, the film has story by Awe, Kalki filmmaker Prasanth Varma.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Mahesh Babu plans to take a brief break between his breakneck schedules for his upcoming film, SSMB28, directed by Trivikram. The film, produced by S Radha Krishna under Haarika and Hassine Creations, the makers of Ala Vaikunthapurramulo, commenced its shoot earlier this year and also stars Sreeleela, Pooja Hegde, Ramya Krishna and Jayaram, to name a few.

While Ashok hasn’t finalised any new project yet, Mahesh will move onto RRR director SS Rajamouli’s action adventure, to be produced by KL Narayana under Sri Durga Arts. The film is still in its scripting stages and is touted to be made on a budget over Rs 800 crore. Mahesh’s last release was Sarkaru Vaari Paata, directed by Parasuram Petla, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
