SSMB28 to Prabhas-Maruthi combo: Rangasthalam Mahesh signs several biggies

Popular actor, comedian Mahesh Achanta, known better as Rangasthalam Mahesh, has acted in over 60-70 films in the previous decade, consistently proving himself as a performer with every opportunity. Some of his popular appearances were for Cinema Chupista Maava, Shatamanam Bhavati, Nenu Local, Mahanati, Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Mahanati and Aravinda Sametha.

He’s been a part of an equal number of content-driven films and commercial entertainers in light-hearted, dramatic and dark roles, reinventing himself from time to time. However, it was Rangasthalam that truly proved to be a game changer for him. Thanks to his credibility, he has now bagged a series of plum projects featuring the biggest names in Telugu cinema.

Mahesh will associate with several pan-Indian stars in his upcoming films. He recently began shooting for SSMB28, Mahesh Babu’s action entertainer directed by Trivikram Srinivas. He will also be a part of Adipurush, Project K star Prabhas’ upcoming untitled film with director Maruthi, that’s touted to be a horror comedy. In addition, he’ll be seen in Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s ambitious project Devil as well.

Beyond these films, he has signed several small/medium-budget films that’ll be releasing in the coming months. The actor is an East Godavari district native, having spent his early years in Sankaraguptam. He got hitched amidst several restrictions during the COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020. He’s currently in the best phase of his career as an actor, having showcased his worth in many big films and all he needs to do now is to consolidate, and plan his projects wisely.

While Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Devil is expected to release this year, both of Mahesh’s other projects - SSMB28, Prabhas’ untitled horror comedy with Maruthi - are slated for a 2024 release. Given the amount of reach the films will enjoy, they’re certain to provide a new dimension to the promising career of Rangasthalam Mahesh.
