Star - ‘Photo album’ video from Kavin's film released; here's what to expect from it...

Actor Kavin, who is known for his film Dada, will be seen next in a light-hearted family drama titled Star. Elan, known for Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (PPK), is in charge of directing the movie. The makers recently released a ‘photo album’ from the film that has fans intrigued.  

Glimpse video showcases memories from a ‘photo album’

The photo album is a video that gives a glimpse into the film. The video, titled ‘Photo Album of a Star’, has Kavin saying, “Dad, every year on my birthday, you capture a photograph of mine. But I never got to see them.” A video then presents Kavin standing amid cardboard cutouts of prominent Tamil film characters on a beach. As each page of the album is flipped, glimpses into the protagonist's life unfold, featuring images of his parents, romantic relationships and the words spoken to him at different phases of his life. 

The film is touted as a drama that follows the journey of a movie star’s struggles and the untold side of stardom. In an earlier interview, director Elan revealed that Star is an emotional family drama. “While PPK was a romcom, Star will have a mix of everything, including a college story, romance and family drama,” the director elaborated. The newly released glimpse also announced that the first single from the film will be out on December 12 (superstar Rajinikanth's birthday).

Star also has Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam. The music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Ezhil Arasu K as the cinematographer. Vinoth Raj Kumar N is the art director and Pradeep E Ragav handles the editing.

Kavin replaced Harish Kalyan in Star

Initially, Elan had announced Star with his PPK actor, Harish Kalyan. The makers had also unveiled several interesting posters to build hype around the film. But the project's failure to progress saw Harish Kalyan quit the project. Elan then reworked the script and brought Kavin on board as the lead actor of Star.
