Star Trek: Strange New Worlds gets a premiere date on Voot Select, find out

Voot Select announces that it will be entering the sci-fi genre with the release of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on May 5th, 2022, as part of its ongoing portfolio of excellent international titles across many genres. Star Trek has a five-decade heritage and has quickly become a worldwide pop-cultural sensation!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be a ten-episode series set in the Milky Way galaxy, following Captain Christopher Pike, Science Officer Spock, and Number One as they discover new worlds and civilizations in the years before Captain Kirk boards the USS Enterprise. Anson Mount reprises his role as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn reprises her role as Number One, and Ethan Peck reprises his role as Science Officer Spock in the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery series.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be set a decade before Kirk assumes command of the famed USS Enterprise. Nurse Chapel, Dr M'Benga, and – most thrilling of all – the renowned Uhura, who will be a cadet on the Enterprise in this prequel to the original series, will be joined by more familiar names from the 1960s.

Akiva Goldsman wrote the series premiere, and the tale was written by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet. Henry Alonso Myers and Goldsman are the co-showrunners, with Goldsman directing the first episode. Along with Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Aaron Baiers, Goldsman, Kurtzman, and Lumet serve as executive producers. Co-executive producers are Akela Cooper and Davy Perez. CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment developed the show, which is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
