Story:

Tech fell off the cliff and the clones of ‘The Bad Batch’ were captured. Now, it is Omega and Crosshair who have to execute an exit from The Empire. Will they be successful?

Review:

Tech falling, most probably to his death, has left all Star Wars: The Bad Batch fans heartbroken but also curious whether he has really died. While we were still mourning that, Omega gets captured and brought to work for The Empire with her sister Nala Se. That is where she realizes that her former partner in crime Crosshair also is. He’s alive and he has not joined hands with the enemy but in fact is targetted by them, just like her. She wants to escape the maze but things will not be easy.

The third season begins with the stormtroopers facing challenges. On the other hand, Omega looks out the window with hope. This, in a way, signals what one expects from the season and franchise - good over evil.

Omega is, as the episode is titled, confined with Crosshair. They however have different privileges. Omega being Omega, has a human heart even though she is a clone. That is what makes her different and it is what her sister Nala Se recognizes. The scene with the hound, Latcher, is proof of the very same thing. Despite the danger, Omega does not think twice about following her heart.

Omega's relationship with Crosshair changes this time around, mainly thanks to him. Being the more practical of them, he showers tough love on her.

Hemlock, as always, continues to show his evil side in the subtlest ways possible. Whether it is warning Nala Se or catching Omega red-handed, his fear is constant and undeniable.

That is all there is to the episode. The graphics have not changed and in fact, most of the story this time is inside a cube so there’s nothing extraordinary happening already but this is just the beginning. Wrecker, Hunter and probably even Tech might make a comeback and we would experience the crazy world once again.

Verdict:

The Dave Filoni directorial episode is not out of the ordinary, but this is just the beginning. The Bad Batch are yet to show what they are made up of and a reunion with Crosshair in their mission to destroy The Empire is very much expected. More episodes will reveal what happens next.
