A sequel to the 2016 release Don't Breathe 2 has finally got a release date in India. The film is directed by Rodo Sayagues and is slated to release on September 17, 2021, on 1000 screens. The horror flick will release not only in English but also Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu by Sony Pictures Entertainment India. Along with the announcement, the makers also dropped a bone-chilling poster featuring a visually impaired Stephen Lang frozen behind an ice door and holding a hammer.

This sequel is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom (Stephen) lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.

Don't Breathe 2 is penned by Sayagues with Fede Alvarez who helmed the first instalment. Brendan Sexton ||| and Madelyn Grace also feature in the film as supporting characters.

The production of the horror flick was done during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier during an interaction with The Hollywood Reporter, Lang spoke about shooting the film in isolation.

The actor stated, "My role, regardless of the COVID-19 crisis or anything else, it’s an extremely isolating role. I spend a lot of time just with me, anyway."

Stephen added that in some perverse fashion, the pandemic actually played into the playing of his role as Norman.

After wrapping the film, the actor felt more confident and he further told the international publication, "I never walked away from a scene on this feeling like we’d left something on the table there. We really strived to get everything we could out of it."

Don't Breathe 2 was released in the US in August this year and opened to great numbers at the box office. The film marks the directorial debut of Rodo Sayagues.
