Stolen: Ali Fazal reviews Mirzapur co-star Abhishek Banerjee's thriller film; 'Left me stunned and...'

Abhishek Banerjee's internationally acclaimed thriller drama, Stolen, is finally streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film was earlier recognised at several prestigious film festivals, including the Venice Film Festival 2023, the BFI London, and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). It has been getting rave reviews from fans and critics, and now Abhishek's Mirzapur co-star, Ali Fazal, has shared his review.

Soon after Stolen began streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Ali Fazal took to his Instagram Story and shared his review for Stolen, starring his Mirzapur co-star, Abhishek Banerjee. Ali said that Stolen is an important film and wrote, "Yeh Ek bohot zaroori film hai - dekhiyega aaplog. It left me stunned and rarely does that happen in cinema aajkal. Beautifully directed by @karantejpal94. @nowitsabhi apna bhai chhaa gaya." 

Divyenndu praises Stolen

Abhishek's another Mirzapur co-star, Divyenndu, also praised the film and wrote on his Instagram, "Raw.. Gritty.. Honest.. Brilliantly Disturbing… A true blue Indie Film..

About Stolen

Stolen is a Hindi-language survival thriller directed by Karan Tejpal. The film stars Abhishek Banerjee and Shubham Vardhan as brothers who become involved in a kidnapping case after a poor mother's child went missing at a railway station in Rajasthan.

Two city-bred brothers, Gautam (Abhishek Banerjee) and Raman (Shubham Vardhan), encounter a young mother, Jhumpa (Mia Maelzer), whose child has been stolen at a railway station. 

Raman, despite his brother's urging to avoid him, decides to help, which puts them in a dangerous situation. They become embroiled in an investigation that uncovers a web of illegal surrogacy rackets, child-kidnapping rings, and other hidden dangers. The film explores themes of class, power, and the moral complexities of circumstance.

Meanwhile, the OTTplay review for Stolen stated that the film is both entertaining and essential viewing. "With a phenomenal performance by Abhishek Banerjee and a deeply confident debut from Karan Tejpal, the film never loses control of its 90-minute runtime — even during its most flawed moments," it further read.

The executive producers for Stolen are Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani, and Vikramaditya Motwane. It is directed by Karan Tejpal and produced by Gaurav Dhingra.
