Stolen OTT release date: When and where to watch Abhishek Banerjee's thriller drama

Abhishek Banerjee is one of the most talented and versatile actors in the industry. Popularly known for his roles in Stree and Mirzapur, the actor has done several critically acclaimed films in his career, and one of them is Stolen. Directed by Karan Tejpal, the thriller drama already has garnered international acclaim and now is all set to land on an OTT platform.

On May 26, Amazon Prime Video shared a new poster of Abhishek Banerjee's internationally acclaimed film, Stolen, to announce the OTT release date. The film will be released on June 4. Sharing the information, the streaming platform captioned, "A missing child and a thrilling race against time." In the poster, Abhishek can be seen clad in blood, looking devastated. 

About Stolen

Stolen has already been recognised at several prestigious film festivals, including the Venice Film Festival 2023, the BFI London, and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). The film also won the Audience Choice Best Film and Best Director awards at Japan’s Skip City International Digital Cinema Festival.

In India, the film premiered at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and was later showcased at the 28th International Film Festival of Kerala.

The story centers around two brothers, Gautam (Abhishek Banerjee) and Raman (Shubham), who witness the abduction of a baby from a poor mother at a railway station. This incident leads them on a dangerous journey to find the child, which forces them to confront their own moral perspectives and social injustice. This film explores themes of motherhood, classism, hatred of foreigners, and disillusionment with the system.

Kiran Rao on Stolen

Talking about the film, executive producer Kiran Rao said that Stolen is a rare film that combines thrilling narrative tension with a deeply humane core. 

"The character of Jhumpa stayed with me long after I watched the film—her vulnerability and resilience are a reminder of the strength that lies in the most unexpected places. It’s that rare kind of cinema that captivates while drawing the audience deeper with every frame. It's heartening to bring this powerful film to Prime Video, I'm truly honoured to support this compelling film," she said. 

Earlier, Abhishek Banerjee opened up about his film and added, "I feel very proud and glad I did Stolen and hopefully will look for (more) films where I can represent my country proudly.”

Meanwhile, the executive producers for Stolen are Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani, and Vikramaditya Motwane. It is directed by Karan Tejpal and produced by Gaurav Dhingra and cast Abhishek Banerjee, Harish Khanna, Mia Maelzer, Sahidur Rahaman, and Shubham Vardhan.
