Fans of Netflix’s much-loved sci-fi show Stranger Things got a glimpse of what lays ahead for the characters in Hawkins, Indiana, as the makers revealed the teaser of the fourth season on Thursday.

The video takes the audiences back to Hawkins National Laboratory, where Millie Bobby Brown’s El spent most of her childhood. Through flashbacks, the teaser gives us a peek into how Eleven got her powers, which she has used in the previous seasons to fight monsters from the Upside Down.

It also hints that there might be other children just like her. For those new to the show, Stranger Things Season 2 had Eleven meet Kali alias Eight. The two were named after the rooms they were locked up in.

The clip also hints that Dr Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine), who Eleven referred to as papa, will be back. The first season narrated how he had a major part to play in initiating El’s supernatural powers. The teaser has a voiceover of a man telling El, “Today, I have something very special planned for you.” He then calls out to her and asks, “Eleven, are you listening?”

Reports suggest Stranger Things Season 4 has a lot of portions shot in Russia. Jim Hopper, who helped Eleven and her friends fight off the monsters throughout the series, is kept hostage in Kamchatka in this season.

Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield and Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers will all be back for the season, which is currently in post-production phase.

While no release date has been confirmed yet, it is rumoured that the show is likely to drop in 2022.
