The fourth season of Stranger Things is now streaming on Netflix and most fans of the show are already caught up with it. While the show has expanded on its geographical storytelling this season, many fans have felt that Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan Byers has been sidelined. The actor has now opened up about the fan concern himself.

In an interview with British GQ, Heaton was asked about how he feels about his character being possibly sidelined in the latest season.

““I know why you’re asking that,” he says. “And I’ve definitely seen some forums like Screenrant or something – ‘What happened to the character?’ It is an ensemble cast, obviously every season they’ve brought in new characters, wonderful characters, and they’ve taken the story to different places.”

The actor then went on to praise the direction the fourth season of the fan-favourite show has taken, and even said it resembles Nightmare on Elm Street. He added that the latest season will also test the relationship between Jonathan and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer).

While the first three seasons of Stranger Things were set in Hawkins, Indiana, the fourth season takes the viewers around the world with its storytelling. While Nancy is still in Hawkins and on the trail of mysterious murders happening in the town, Jonathan lives in California with his mother, brother and Eleven.

Apart from Heaton and Dyer, the show also features Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery and Maya Hawke among others.

The fourth season of the show has been divided into two parts, with the first part consisting of seven episodes, all of which are over 60 minutes long. Part one of Stranger Things Season four is now available on Netflix.
