The actor who plays Will Byers in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp, has clarified the sexual orientation of his character. Throughout the show's four seasons, fans have reportedly questioned if Will is gay, with some even criticising the Netflix series for delaying the outright declaration of the obvious.

Schnapp, who confirmed Will's sexual orientation in a new interview with Variety that was released on Thursday, also revealed that the adolescent has love feelings for Mike, who is played by Finn Wolfhard.

According to the actor, naturally, that was alluded to in Season 1, but one never really knew. He said, "Is it just him growing up slower than his friends?"

Schnapp continued, "They made it very real and obvious now that he is older." Now that he is openly gay and admits to loving Mike, everything is crystal clear.

Viewers watching the season 4 finale undoubtedly thought that it was sufficiently evident, particularly in a sequence where Will discussed the challenges of feeling different with Mike.

Later, he had a conversation about his sexuality with his brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), who seemed to encourage Will without truly addressing it.

Schnappe said that in code, Jonathan is conversing with him. It's really the ideal technique to let Will know that his friend cares about him and will always accept him. It seemed incredibly healthy to him.

He also talked about dealing with his own personal development and self-identity while playing a gay role at such a young age. According to People magazine, Schnapp continued in the Variety interview that he thinks it's all just part of the difficulty of acting.

Netflix's Stranger Things made its debut in 2016. The acclaimed science fiction drama series also stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and Priah Ferguson, in addition to Schnapp, Wolfhard, and Bobby Brown.
