The spooky drama series Stranger Things on Netflix, which has won hearts around the world, is winding down. Season five will be the series' last, and actor Noah Schnapp, who has played Will Byers from the start, has promised viewers an emotionally wrenching finale.

Noah Schnapp teases emotional finale

Schnapp talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the show's finale while she was at the New York City opening night of Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway. In characterising the finale's emotional weight, the actor spared no adjectives.

He can already feel the sadness in people's hearts. Even though it was heartbreaking, Schnapp can't wait to see how everyone reacts to the conclusion because he guarantees it will make them cry. The actor predicted that it would be a sad event.

Plot continues post-Vecna havoc

Season 5 begins in the autumn of 1987 and continues after the terrifying events of Season 4, when the terrifying Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower [watch Emmanuelle]) opened a perilous conduit to the Upside Down and caused the tiny town of Hawkins to descend into anarchy. The last installment, set to premiere in 2025, promises to be an intense and moving climax for the series, which gained popularity rapidly after its 2016 debut.

Season 5 filming officially concluded in December of last year, according to Netflix. The actors and crew were all really moved by the announcement. In an emotional Instagram post, Schnapp reflected on his time with the show over the past decade.

Decade of memories

"Two days ago, I wrapped my final scene as Will Byers, and I'm feeling very emotional," said the actor. He added that as he closes this chapter of his life, Schnapp can't help but be forever grateful for the incredible people that he has met and the valuable life/career lessons he learnt through this decade's journey.

The next season should finish the characters' arcs and solve the show's many mysteries after four seasons.

Cultural phenomenon since 2016

Ever since its 2016 premiere, Stranger Things has mesmerised viewers worldwide with a blend of wistfulness for the 1980s, terror, camaraderie, and otherworldly excitement. The incredible global viewership of 140 million for Season 4 alone is proof of the show's immense popularity and devoted fan base.

Season 5 of Stranger Things will stream on Netflix later this year, and if what Schnapp has said is any indicator, viewers can be ready for a heartbreaking farewell.
