Streaming giant MX Player releases its line-up of shows and movies for 2022

With over 280 million monthly active users, MX Player has been entertaining its audience with content in multiple Indian languages and across varied genres like dramas, thrillers, romance and comedy. The OTT player also announced an adaptation of The Vijay Mallya Story as its next original series, in association with Almighty Motion Picture that has acquired the rights of this book, published by Penguin India and written by K Giri Prakash. The web series will trace the journey of the flamboyant entrepreneur Vijay Mallya and is touted to cover a large spectrum of his triumphs and travails. 

Other titles that you should look out for include: 

Bhaukaal 2

The crime drama is returning with a new season. The drama will see IPS Officer Naveen Sikhera, played by Mohit Raina and his men face the unchecked havoc of a new power-hungry adversary in Muzaffarnagar. All episodes drop on January 20 on the platform.

Aashram 3

The popular and hit series talks about the blind faith that devotees shower upon conmen disguised in the garb of Godmen. Aashram will be back with another thrilling season as a power-packed revenge drama where Pammi takes on the Herculean task of going against Kashipurwaale Baba Nirala. Helmed by Prakash Jha, the series will have Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar and Tridha Choudhury reprise their roles. 

Matsya Kaand 2

Another thriller, Matsya Kaand has been renewed for another season on popular demand. The show crossed over 100 million views within a month of its launch. Directed by Ajay Bhuyan, the series will have Ravii Dubey, Madhur Mittal, Zoya Afroz, Piyush Mishra and Ravi Kishan entertaining the viewers again.

Raktanchal 2

Directed by Ritam Shrivastava, this edge-of-the-seat crime drama is back for a second season too. It stars Kranti Prakash Jha, Niketan Dhir, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mahie Gill and Karan Patel. 

Chhote Yadav

This hinterland drama will see Saurabh Shukla, Ranvir Shorey, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Seema Biswas in key roles. 

Dharavi Bank

This upcoming big-ticket offering is being directed by Samit Kakkad and will star Vivek Oberoi, Suniel Shetty and Sonali Kulkarni in key roles. The crime saga will mark the OTT debut of actress Shanthipriya, opposite Shetty. The series will feature the actress in a never-seen-before avatar.
