Earlier this week, Kannada producer MN Kumar went public with allegations that he’s been ‘chasing’ Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep for quite a while to either honour his commitment to make a film with him or return the remuneration paid and that his efforts have been in vain. Kumar, who has not only produced four of Sudeep’s film, but also distributed several others, was allegedly instructed by the actor to get director Nanda Kishore on board. But then the actor continuously kept pushing ahead plans to collaborate with Kumar, which has now resulted in this public mud-slinging.
Following Kumar’s allegations, Sudeep sent a legal notice to the producer, claiming Rs 10 crore in damages owing to defamation. The filmmaker, though, is in no mood to back down and has sought the support of the Film Chamber of Commerce to sort this issue and addressed the media yet again today. In the course of discussing the issues that occurred, Kumar let slip that Sudeep was instrumental in insisting that the release of his films Shanti Nivasa and Mukunda Murari be fixed along with those of other film. The actor apparently wanted a box office clash, which, netizens have now figured out was with Darshan’s Suntaragali and Yash’s Santhu Straight Forward.
Yash fans, of course, are miffed at this bit of information that Sudeep allegedly deliberately tried to put a spoke in the wheel of the Rocking Star’s stardom. A video snippet from the press conference, where Kumar says that it was Sudeep’s idea and not his to release Mukunda Murari along with another Kannada film is now going viral.
