Kannada movie star Sudeep is reportedly all set to join politics, and the media is buzzing with rumours that he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. However, no official confirmation has been given yet.

While the news of Sudeep's potential entry into politics may come as a surprise to some, a video of the actor sharing his thoughts on the matter is going viral now. In an old interview, Sudeep said that he believes serving people is not dependent on political power. "Why do people join politics? To serve people. I'm already doing it. Do you need the (political) power to serve people? Regardless of how big or small your service is, as long as you are doing it with your money you don't need power," Sudeep told a Kannada news channel earlier.

He also emphasised his lack of willingness to take on such a huge responsibility. "Maybe you need political power when you need money to come from somewhere else to help people. I don't know. But, do I need that responsibility? Uncesscery things. See, I have not set out to fix roads. And I don't know about other things. But, when it comes to helping a few people and being of some help to people, I don't think I need power," Sudeep had said earlier.

Despite his statement in the past, it remains to be seen whether Sudeep will take the plunge and enter the political arena. He has remained one of the top stars in the Kannada film industry for over two decades now. His work in both films and television has earned him a massive following, and his fans are eagerly waiting for the official announcement of his political debut. If he does join politics, it could make a significant impact on the political landscape of the poll-bound state.
