Sudha Kongara has assisted Mani Ratnam in the past and expresses her joy in meeting her teacher on the sets of Thug Life
We had earlier reported that Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's upcoming film titled Thug Life began shooting on Wednesday. While the duo is aggressively working on the magnum opus, the film crew had a visitor in the form of filmmaker Sudha Kongara.
Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sudha Kongara posted pictures of herself on the sets of Thug Life. "Energy Booster - Mani Sir's sets!" she captioned her post. One can also see filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar on the sets.
Thug Life is directed by Mani Ratnam and stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role. The film has music by AR Rahman and is expected to be a gangster drama. The film will mark the veteran filmmaker’s reunion with Kamal Haasan after their iconic film Nayakan (1987). Thug Life boasts an ensemble star cast including Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Gautham Karthik, Nasser, and Abhirami, among others. The film is jointly backed by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies. A release date for the film is yet to be announced. Sreekar Prasad is handling the editing, with the cinematography done by Ravi K Chandran.

Sudha Kongara, who assisted Mani Ratnam earlier, is currently working on two projects. She is working with Akshay Kumar on the Hindi remake of her Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru. The Tamil film fetched several National Film Awards and became one of the first few star films to premiere on an OTT platform. The film is inspired by true events and follows the trials and tribulations of the protagonist, who wants to launch an affordable airline.

On the other hand, she will be once again teaming up with Suriya for another film, which is titled Purananooru. A GV Prakash musical, the film also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya and Vijay Varma. The film is backed by Suriya's home banner, 2D Entertainment. The film is expected to be a political drama and will focus on the anti-Hindi riots. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
