Sony LIV has announced another Israeli series adaptation after Kvodo (adapted as Jimmy Sheirgill’s Your Honor). This time they are remaking the superhit series Fauda. Titled Tanaav, this series will be directed by Sudhir Mishra.

The series will feature Manav Vij in the lead role. Sumit Kaul, Rajat Kapoor, Shashank Arora, Arbaaz Khan, Zarina Wahab, Ekta Kaul, Waluscha D’souza, Danish Hussain, Satyadeep Mishra, Sukhmani Sadana, Sahiba Bali, Amit Gaur, Arslan Goni, Rockey Raina, M.K. Raina, Sheen Dass and Aryaman Seth also play pivotal parts in the show.

While Fauda was set in Israel Defence Force, Tanaav is set in Kashmir. The show is shot in the area for 100 days at a stretch.

Tanaav consists of 12 episodes, much like the original show. Whether it stays true to the story of the show like Your Honor or brings in some change, will be seen when the show releases.

The show will mark Applause Entertainment’s yet-another collaboration with Sony LIV. They have tied hands for Scam 1992, Avrodh, Undekhi and Your Honor in the past.

“As a filmmaker, Tanaav allowed me to explore a variety of characters and delve deep into their psyche. It is a true Indian story weaved into a tightly-knit action drama that highlights human emotions and the dilemmas they face. Cannot wait for the audience to binge-watch Tanaav,” director Sudhir Mishra said in a press statement.

Fauda co-creator Avi Issacharoff also expressed his delight on the news. He finds it an honour that the show has managed to touch the hearts of the viewers, especially in India.

The release date of this show is yet to be announced. It will however, be exclusively available on Sony LIV.
