Sudipta Banerjee is all set to tie the knot

Sudipta Banerjee is a known face of Tollywood. Right now, she is acting as the widowed sister-in-law of Subhra in the serial Sohag Jal. The promo shows that the pregnant Beni marries Subhra. Is this a marriage or a fake? That will be cleared later. However, in reality, Sudipta is soon to tie the knot. She will be married in May. Her in-laws hail from a political background. 

Sudipta is going to marry the ex-MLA Smita Bakshi's son Soumya. She confirmed her affair with Soumya one and a half years back. They have been together for three years. Their romance is seen on social media also. Now, marriage preparation is full-on with shopping, card selection, menu selection, etc. Sudipta said the wedding will take place on May 1.

Sudipta said in an interview, “Now there is only marriage discussion till 2 am every day. The preparation is more intense in Soumya’s family. The wedding will take place near Science City. The reception will be in Nicco Park. Two and a half thousand people are invited to my reception.” Sudipta arranged the menu according to both of their wishes, and it comprises biriyani, pulao, mutton korma, etc. 

According to Sudipta, “We met in a Bijaya Sammilani. After we met, there was no friendship. It was decided from the start that we would marry. The love grew gradually. There was the Covid-lockdown, and I went to Mumbai for a few months. Hence, the marriage was postponed. However, we fight a lot!”

The marriage was confirmed last December but was stalled due to the Covid situation. Soumya is the general secretary of the Trinamool Yuva Congress. The tie-up between politics and film is not new. Soumya and Sudipta are the new additions to that list.
