Sukhee: Release date, OTT platform, trailer, cast, poster, plot, controversies and everything else you need to know

First things first. The Shilpa Shetty starrer ‘Sukhee’ may not be one of those larger-than-life film that gets mounted on an extremely expensive canvas with flashy cars and bikes for effect. This film is a feel-good film, which every woman (irrespective or housewife or a working woman) will surely relate to. Directed by Sonal Joshi, the ‘slice of life’ film has been written by Radhika Anand (story) and Paulomi Dutta (screenplay).

Plot
As the title suggests, the film centres, revolves and rotates around the character played by Shilpa Shetty, whose name is ‘Sukhee’. Its deals about the many roles that a lady plays in her life and what happens when she decides to take a break from her routine life, although just for a mere few days.

The Sonal Joshi directorial has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra and Shikhaa Sharma.

Cast
Sukhee stars Shilpa Shetty in the titular role of ‘Sukhee’. Besides her, the film also stars a host of other actors like Amit Sadh, Kusha Kapila, Dilnaz Irani, Pavleen Gujral, Chaitannya Choudhry, Kiran Kumar, Vinod Nagpal, Purnima Rathod, Sejal Gupta and others.

Trailer
The makers of the film had dropped the official trailer ahead of the film’s release which sees Shilpa Shetty playing the titular character, who, in order to take a break from her mundane routine of being a mother and a housewife, decides for a re-union with her old friends. What happens to her husband and daughter in her absence and do they stop taking her and her presence for granted is what seemingly forms the rest of the film.

Poster
The poster of the film has Shilpa Shetty as the central character, stand out in the poster… quite literally! While Shilpa Shetty and her trademark smile forms the ‘centre’ of attraction, the other characters in the film form the rest of the poster. And these different characters not just represent different faces, but also different phases in the life of Sukhee.

Till date, there has been no controversy associated with the film and also about the film.

Release date and OTT platform
‘Sukhee’ is all set to release in theatres on September 22, 2023. And, as far as online streaming platform / OTT platform is concerned, the makers have not yet announced anything regarding the same. But, do keep a watch on this space for developments.
