Director Sukumar is on cloud nine after the massive success of Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun. The film has shattered numerous records in Indian cinema, and much of the credit goes to Sukumar's brilliant direction. After delivering this blockbuster, he is taking a well-deserved break while also gearing up for his next film with Ram Charan.
Meanwhile, over the past two days, rumours have been circulating that Sukumar is set to direct a film with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Reports suggested that the director recently travelled to Mumbai to meet SRK for a possible collaboration, with claims that the meeting happened at SRK’s request.
However, sources close to Sukumar have now debunked these reports. A team member confirmed, "Sukumar sir is occupied with multiple projects as a producer, and he is also directing Ram Charan’s next film. He has a packed schedule for the next two years. His visit to Mumbai was purely personal, and there is no truth to the rumours about him collaborating with SRK."
Shah Rukh Khan, one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, previously worked with South Indian director Atlee for Jawan, which turned out to be a massive hit. This led to speculation that SRK, impressed with Sukumar’s work in Pushpa, was eager to collaborate with him. While this combination would undoubtedly excite fans, it is not happening anytime soon. Meanwhile, you can stream Shah Rukh Khan's hit film Pardes on OTTplay Premium.
Currently, Sukumar is in Dubai, where he is actively preparing for his upcoming film with Ram Charan. The project will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the same production house behind Pushpa.
While the rumours of Sukumar directing SRK gained significant traction, they have now been dismissed, leaving fans disappointed. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is busy with his next film, King, which has already gone on floors. For now, all eyes are on Sukumar’s next big venture with Ram Charan. Stay tuned for more updates.
