What is Sulaikha Manzil about?

The movie revolves around Haala (Anarkali), who finally agrees to an arranged marriage, years after a tragic heartbreak. However, the run-up to the wedding day is far from smooth with both Haala as well as the prospective groom Ameen, who works in Abu Dhabi, facing a sea of uncertainties. How the duo as well as their families navigate this on the eve of the wedding as well as on the D-day form the plot of the movie.

In a recent interview with OTTplay, Ashraf, who has also scripted the movie, told us, “A wedding is also an event that is pregnant with emotions – where you are welcoming people, letting go of those you love. The whole ‘blood, sweat and sacrifice’ aspect is there in every wedding, and the family audience can relate to such films easily.”

The filmmaker further added that it’s a movie that plays up the celebration elements during the wedding. “The story is set in Ponnani and has a love story at its core,” said Ashraf, who had also co-scripted Tovino Thomas’ Thallumaala.
