Suman Nagarkar’s thriller Stalker to drop on Namma Flix

Director Kishore Bhargav’s second film after Psycho (made in Hindi and dubbed in Telugu as well) was Stalker, yet another psychological thriller. This time around, he chose the subject of stalking and the effect it has on the victim and the victim’s family. Led by a cast including Ram, Suman Nagarkar, Aishwarya Nambiar, Namrata Patil, Uday Achar, Jiten Aroral and Vishu Albert, among others, Stalker follows the story of a businessman, who is arrested by the anti-terror squad, on the suspicion of terror activities, only to then reveal that whatever he has done has been in the interest of his daughter, who was being harassed by a stalker.

Stalker had a theatrical release way back in March 2022 and has now got a digital partner. The film has been picked up by Namma Flix, the on-demand video streaming platform for Kannada content lovers all over the world and will be available on the platform from July 7, Friday.

Director Kishore is a long-time associate of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, with roots in Karnataka. Stalker is his first Kannada project, which he says was inspired by a real-life instance that occurred with his own daughter. Talking to the media prior to the film’s release, Kishore had said that he had once dropped his daughter and her friend to a mall for a movie and promised to pick them up at a designated spot at a certain time. However, when Kishore returned, there was no sign of them. The girls did not have phones on them and Kishore decided against heading out to look for them to avoid any confusion of them not chancing upon each other. After a fairly long wait, the girls eventually made it to the rendezvous point, and told him that they’d just been killing time in the mall by roaming around. For Kishore, though, this became the trigger to write the story of Stalker.
