'Sunaina is sunshine in a human form,' Shweta Tripathi talks about her character in Escaype Live

After the absolute success of Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein on Netflix, Shweta Tripathi Sharma is gearing up for another thriller series, Escaype Live. The upcoming web series also stars Siddharth, Jaaved Jaaferi, Swastika Mukherjee, Plabita Borthakur, Ritvik Sahore and Waluscha De Sousa among others. The Masaan actor talked about the story and her character in the show in a recent statement.

Shweta plays the character of an open-minded small-town girl. Talking about her choice of work, the actress mentioned that she is drawn to drama and the hook for her in a story is that it has interesting characters and an emotional quotient. "I think all these factors are extremely important to me and here it was a tick mark in all the boxes, and as an actor I'm always looking for a different level of experience and with Sunaina, I got it," she added.

She further explained her character and said that Sunaina is sunshine in a human form, and everybody needs a person like that in their life, who always supports them unconditionally and is honest. "It's a very refreshing character because I have never played a very happy character so that was one of the biggest changes. An educated and ambitious woman with dreams who knows exactly what she wants and also exactly what she does," she added.

Escaype Live also has Sumedh Mudgalkar, Sharat Saxena, Sanjay Narvekar, Smita Tambe, Arundhati Nag, Aditi Govitrikar, Aakanksha Singh, Geetika Vidya, Mallika Singh, Jagjeet Sandhu, Rohit Chandel and Aadya Sharma playing supporting characters. 

Created and directed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, the social thriller series has been backed by the filmmaker himself along with Gayatri Gill and Rahul Kumar Tewary.

Escaype Live is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on May 20.
