Sundeep Kishan, who last scored a big hit with Venkatadri Express in 2013, has consistently earned critical acclaim for his performances though commercial success has eluded him for a while. He’d pinned all his hopes on Michael, the multilingual gangster saga, that released this year, though it met with a moderate response from audiences and critics.

While Michael is now out on aha, the actor is gearing up for the release of a rural thriller Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, directed by VI Anand (with whom he worked on Tiger earlier). Kavya Thapar, Varsha Bollamma play the female leads in the film. At the film’s teaser launch today, Sundeep spoke highly of his producer Anil Sunkara and why his presence was quite necessary to make Ooru Peru Bhairavakona on a huge canvas.

“This is an industry where many talk ill about others but you wouldn’t find anyone badmouthing Anil Sunkara. He’s so large-hearted and means well for everyone that they only have kind words to say. There are only a few people who stood by me through my thick and thin in the industry and I can proudly say he’s one of them. When we talk over phone, our conversations go on for 90 minutes,” he said.

“Anil Sunkara is keen to produce the biggest hit in my career under his banner. More than he, standing up for me, I feel responsible for delivering a success with Ooru Peru Bhairavakona for him. Owing to a practical issue, when the film was nearly shelved due to no fault from the team, he backed it with full confidence and the film got bigger and better only because of him,” Sundeep stated.

Razesh Danda of Hasya Movies is bankrolling the film while Anil Sunkara is presenting the film. Shekar Chandra scores the music while the cinematography is by Raj Thota. Chota K Prasad is the editor.
