Suniel Shetty has not once shied away from revealing how JP Dutta's Border is just as special to him as Hera Pheri. He feels connected with every actor involved with the film, and thus, Suniel felt hurt when he could not be a part of the sequel. The actor has finally expressed his emotions openly while talking to India Today. The Phir Hera Pheri actor looks forward to his son Ahan being a part of the legacy.
When asked if he feels any FOMO when it comes to Border 2, Suniel Shetty shared, "Yes and no... no because my son is doing it. If Bhairon Singh is not there, at least little Ahan will be there," he said. This was in direct reference to his son Ahan Shetty (RX100) taking his legacy forward.
Suniel Shetty misses working with Gadar 2 actor Sunny Deol in Border 2 (the actor confesses they get along like house on fire). Nonetheless, he also believes that Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty are developing a similar bond. The actor shared how each time Ahan came back from Border 2 shoot, he would share about how Varun is 'such a nice guy.' This is a feeling Suniel felt for Sunny ever since they worked in the original film. "There is so much work for all of us. We just need to come together and make our industry work. That's the need of the hour," the actor said.
Suniel Shetty is scheduled to resume work on Welcome To The Jungle (from the Welcome franchise) soon. It would see him with his Hera Pheri gang Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. Before that, though, the actor awaits the release of his film Kesari Veer. The movie will be out in theatres on May 23.
Suniel Shetty is also a part of Hera Pheri 3, but ever since Bhagam Bhag actor Paresh Rawal made his exit from the movie, there are lots of questions up in the air. They mostly pertain to whether the movie can even be made without beloved Baburao, or if any actor could replace him. The Priyadarshan directorial was initially scheduled to go on floors within a few months, but there's no certainty at this point.
