On October 19, Sunny Deol announced his upcoming film, Gabru. The film is described as a story of courage, conscience and compassion and is expected to be one of Deol's most emotional roles. While it was earlier announced that Gabru will hit cinemas on March 13, a recent report shared that it has been postponed to May 2026.

Variety India reported that Sunny Deol's Gabru is now scheduled for a May 8 theatrical release. Previously, it was set for a March 13 release. With the new release date, Gabru smoothly avoided the box office clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Yash's Toxic, which are releasing on March 19.

Starring Sunny Deol alongside Simran and Prit Kamani, Gabru features a soulful soundtrack by Mithoon, with lyrics from Sayeed Quadri, Satinder Sartaj, and Anurag Saikya. The film reimagines Deol beyond his iconic action hero image from Gadar and Border

Salman Khan to play cameo in Gabru?

Bollywood Hungama earlier reported that Salman Khan has a special cameo appearance in Gabru. The source shared, “There was a requirement of a star and the makers knew that Salman Khan fit the bill completely. Salman was approached and he loved the part and its contribution to the film. He quietly shot the film more than a year ago and it has shaped up well.”

Providing more insight into the cameo, the source revealed that Salman Khan’s appearance in Gabru is “all heart.” Described as charming and highly entertaining, his role spans three scenes, making it an extended special appearance that adds a memorable touch to the film.
