Superboys of Malegaon is a film co-produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films, which is based on the incredible true story of a group of friends in the town of Malegaon, Maharashtra, who were amateur filmmakers. Malegaon has a long history of being a hub for independent cinema, where regular individuals with boundless imaginations and little resources create groundbreaking works of art. A fictionalised version of the 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon served as the basis for the film.
