Superman’s hard partying bratty cousin Kara (Milly Alcock), and her supremely mischievous dog Krypto were introduced in James Gunn’s Superman earlier this year. The duo get their full-fledged movie outing with the next chapter in the revamped DC Universe, Supergirl, which hits theatres worldwide on June 26, 2026. A teaser of the film was released on December 11, coinciding with the OTT outing of Superman on JioHotstar, after months of rental or purchase only options on multiple platforms.

Kara Zor-El on the end of Krypton

In the 2-minute teaser, a now 23-year-old Kara Zor-El meets a young alien, who is surprised that there are surviving Kryptonians after the planet perished, and wonders what it was like to lose everything in a day. Turns out, Krypton didn’t die in a day. “The gods were not so kind,” says Kara, who has not been dealing with the trauma well. The duo then set out on a journey, where they are met by gun-totting mercenaries, only for Kara to calmly say that it doesn’t look like it will end well for the others and proceed to give them quite a battering.
