Superstar Rajinikanth is all praise for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan; HERE's what he told Jayam Ravi after watching the film

Jayam Ravi indeed seems to be the man of the moment! The actor has been receiving a lot of appreciation from everyone for his portrayal as the Chola Prince Arulmozhi Varman in the film. On Tuesday evening, the actor took to his social media page to reveal that Superstar Rajinikanth, who had watched the film, had a conversation with him and that it has added a whole meaning to his career. He wrote, "That 1 minute conversation made my day, my year and added a whole new meaning to my career. Thank you Thalaiva for your kind words & childlike enthusiasm. I’m overwhelmed, humbled & blessed to know you loved the movie & my performance @rajinikanth sir (sic)."

It is to be noted that Rajinikanth, too, had expressed his interest in playing one of the characters in the novel. He had revealed during Ponniyin Selvan's audio launch that he had requested the film's director Mani Ratnam if he could play Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, but the director had refused to heed to the request as he felt that it would undermine his superstardom. 

In the meantime, a video of a veteran woman, talking about Jayam Ravi, too, has been doing the rounds on social media. In the video, the lady is seen saying, "I have read the novel and when I watched the film, the scenes from the book played before my eyes. I liked all the actors, especially Jayam Ravi. I have always liked him as an actor." When the video came to Jayam Ravi's notice, he wrote, "Thank u amma. Hands down my cutest fan (sic)."

Varalaxmi, too had appreciated Ravi, saying, "What a film..kudos to the entire star cast simply outstanding..Daddy @realsarathkumar u were just Uber cool, subtle yet strong..@trishtrashers n @actor_jayamravi so proud of u both..u played ur roles with so much elegance n strength 😘 #maniratnam sir has made us all so proud.. (sic)."

Comali director Pradeep Ranganathan, too had written on his social media handle,"#PonniyinSelvan1 Very happy for @actor_jayamravi sir. I still remember him being very excited when he shared that he is doing PS during shoot .Wishing more success and happiness to the sweetest person i know :) (sic)."
