Suraj Kumar, cousin of Shiva Rajkumar & Puneeth Rajkumar, loses leg in grave road accident

Actor Suraj Kumar, who happens to be a relative of Dr. Rajkumar, was recently rushed to a hospital after sustaining grave injuries in a road accident. The 24 year old actor is said to have been en route to Ooty from Mysuru on his motorbike when he met with an accident trying to overtake a tractor. Reports say that the overtaking led to him losing control and colliding with a tipper lorry, near the Hirikari Gate of the Gundlupet Taluk in Karnataka, around 4 pm on June 25.

Suraj, as per the same reports, would then be rushed to a private hospital where doctors performed a lifesaving surgery, which caused his leg below the knee to be amputated. 

Also referred to as Dhruwan (screen name), Suraj Kumar is the son of film producer S.A. Srinivas and nephew of Dr. Rajkumar's wife and revered producer Parvathamma Rajkumar. He is the cousin of actors Shiva Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar. Shiva Rajkumar is said to have visited him in the hospital in Mysuru. 

Reportedly, Suraj has previously worked as an assistant director on films like Airavatha and Tarak (starring Challenging Star Darshan) and was launched in 2019 as a leading man but the project was shelved due to unknown reasons. His next film, too, add reports, failed to take off. 

Suraj Kumar's social media feed reveals that he is meant to work on a film titled 'Ratha' but there's no clarity concerning development of this project. According to Pinkvilla, he had signed on to star opposite Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Warrier in an untitled project.
