The makers of Suresh Gopi's next movie have revealed the film's title. The movie, Varaham, is directed by Sanal V Devan. It is also helmed as the actor’s 257th project. Suraj Venjaramoodu and Gautham Vasudev Menon will also play lead roles in this mystery drama, which is expected to release in April.
Fans of the actor and movie buffs alike have been eagerly awaiting the film since so little about the plot and characters has been disclosed by the creators. The fact that Suresh Gopi will be appearing in a role that he has never played before in his career has also raised expectations.
The shooting of this film began in Ernakulam on December 18. The shoot is progressing in Ernakulam, Kollengode in Palakkad, and Idukki soon.
"This thriller will not feature Suresh Gopi as a cop. Furthermore, the identity of the film's female lead has not yet been revealed, as Sanal stated in a candid conversation with OTTplay. The actor has not portrayed a character like that in his career, he continued.
The screenplay for this mystery drama is penned by Manu C Kumar, who directed Sesham Mikeil Fathima. “The idea for this movie was developed in 2020, during the lockdown brought on by COVID-19. Jithu K Jayan, the director of Kallan D'Souza, mentioned a one-liner, and we gradually developed it over time,” he said.
He disclosed to OTTplay that there would not be any mass sequences or detective work in the movie. He continued by saying that after narrating the one-liner to Suresh Gopi, the script was finished and put into proper form in a month.
Under the banner of Maverick Movies Private Limited and Sanjay Padiyoor Entertainments, Vineet Jain and Sanjay Padiyoor are bankrolling the film. Sanjay has over 30 years of experience as a production controller in the motion picture business.
The executive producers of Varaham are Rajasingh and Krishnakumar. The director of photography is Ajay David Kachappilly. Rahul Raj is composing the movie's soundtrack. The makers state that a Vishu release is planned for the film.
Sanal V Devan's second directorial
Sanal's previous film was Kunjamminis Hospital, which starred Indrajith Sukumaran, Nyla Usha, Prakash Raj, Baburaj, Sarayu Mohan, and Mallika Sukumaran. He has also worked in Ullasam and Kaaval as chief associate director. Additionally, he served as assistant director for the films Jeethu Joseph's Life of Josutty, Punyalan Agarbattis, Varsham, and Molly Aunty Rocks by Ranjith Shankar.
Suresh Gopi’s upcoming projects
In director Jayaraj's Oru Perumkaliyattam, Suresh Gopi, Shine Tom Chacko, and Anaswara Rajan are playing lead roles. Two longtime friends, Jayaraj and Suresh Gopi, are working together on a movie 26 years after Kaliyattam came out. The actor recently appeared in debutant Arun Varma’s Garudan.
