Suriya 43 update - Tamil actor Suriya and director Sudha Kongara’s ambitious project, tentatively titled Suriya 43, is all set to begin on April 15. According to the latest reports, the first schedule of the shooting will begin at The American College in Madurai. The team is also planning to shoot at Chidambaram, Haryana, Madurai, and Trichy in the first schedule. The pre-production work for the film has begun and more exciting updates about Suriya 43 can be expected in the coming days.
Is '1965 Purananooru' the title of Suriya 43?
Although an official confirmation is awaited, some reports suggest that Suriya 43 has been titled ‘1965 Purananooru’. The title refers to the last of The Eight Anthologies of Sangam Literature. This also suggests that it is an out-and-out action movie. Earlier, it was reported that Suriya 43 would be a high-voltage political drama. The latest reports also suggest that director Sudha Kongara's film is set between 1950 and 1965 in Madurai. An old transistor radio, a retro-style microphone and other elements in the promo hint at this.
The movie is rumoured to touch on the subject of anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu (the imposition of the Hindi language has been vehemently opposed in Tamil Nadu since 1937).
An exciting star cast from various industries in Suriya 43
It's not just Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s reunion that heightens the hype around Suriya 43, but also the film’s supporting cast. Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya and Vijay Varma are part of the film’s talented star cast. Rumour has it that Kannada actor-director Rakshit Shetty has also been roped in to play a significant role in the film. However, an official announcement about this is awaited.
